Help bring clean water to Muslim villages in Malawi with Benih Amal!

Our organization, Benih Amal, is launching a crowdfunding campaign to support the construction of a well ceremony project in Malawi. This project will benefit over 200 Muslim families living in rural villages, who currently lack access to clean and reliable water sources. By digging the well, we will preserve the lives of nearly a thousand people who need clean water. According to the World Health Organization, around 785 million people globally do not have access to clean water, and in Africa, it is estimated that around 42% of the population lacks access to clean water. In Malawi, the situation is dire, with over half of the population living without access to clean water, leading to a high incidence of water-borne illnesses and diseases. Islam teaches us to help others and be kind to our neighbors. In the Quran, it is said "And whoever saves one - it is as if he had saved mankind entirely" (Quran 5:32) and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said "The best of people are those who bring most benefit to the rest of mankind." (Hadith) A well ceremony is an important Islamic tradition that marks the completion of a new well and ensures its continued maintenance. By participating in this campaign, you will not only be providing a vital resource for these families, but also helping to preserve a cherished cultural tradition. The cost of drilling the well is 2,500 US dollars, or approximately 11,000 Malaysian ringgit. The funds raised from this campaign will go towards the construction of the well, as well as the materials and labor needed for the well ceremony. Additionally, a portion of the funds will be set aside for the ongoing maintenance and repair of the well, ensuring that it remains functional for years to come.
